"If you asked me to describe Jessica, I would say she was one of the most caring people I've ever met and she always had a smile on her face."
Family and friends shared memories of Elmira College junior Jessica Ronhock Monday morning through words and song.
Ronhock was found dead in Arizona last month after she disappeared in January. She told her roommate there was a family emergency, but her family in Massachusetts didn't know she left the campus.
Ronhock was spotted in Florida, Texas and Arizona before her body was found in her car at the bottom of a 200foot ravine.
"I want to thank the north face fleece jacket clearance Elmira College community for coming together and supporting our family during that time when we thought Jessie was missing," said Ronhock's mother Terry Ronhock.
But Monday's memorial service at EC reflected on Jessie's life, not death. Cadets spoke about her involvement in the school's ROTC program and her desire to be a military nurse.
"I know when Jessie smiled that she could light up a room with just her smile. I know that Jessie, above all else, wanted to devote her life to help others," said EC professor Charles Crusha.
Ronhock the north face clearance always had high marks and was involved in athletics as well.
Friends mentioned Ronhock struggled with a lot personally. Her mother says Ronhock was trying to find herself on her trip out west and still feels her around all the time.
"She was soft and gentle but she touched people's lives in a quiet way. She didn't come in like a thunderstorm. She came in like a flutter in a quiet way so I think that's how we're going to most remember her."
